The Situation
A DIFC office had been managing staff access with mechanical keys, and every time someone left the company there was no practical way to know how many copies were still circulating. Management also had no record of who entered the server room, which was a growing concern for their compliance obligations.
How We Approached It
We walked the premises with the operations manager and identified the doors that genuinely needed controlled access: the main entrance, the server room and the stock cupboard. Fitting readers on every internal door would have added cost without adding security.
We installed a keycard access control system on those doors, wired it back to a central controller, and set permission groups so general staff reach the office but only authorised personnel reach the server room. Fire-exit doors were left fully compliant with free egress at all times.
The Result
Cards can now be issued in seconds and cancelled instantly when someone leaves, so a departing employee no longer represents an open door. Management has a complete entry log per door, which satisfies their audit requirements, and the mechanical key headache is gone for good.
